Bolus Calform® for the prevention and treatment of hypocalcemia in cattle

       Bayer launches Calform® Bolus, the only product that combines calcium formate and magnesium chloride for the prevention and treatment of calcium deficiency during lactation or calcium therapy.
       Each tablet contains 44 grams of calcium and 8 grams of magnesium (30% more magnesium than previously administered, making it more stable, these amounts are necessary for the prevention and treatment of hypocalcemia);
       Calcium formate releases similar concentrations of chloride but does not cause esophageal irritation. In addition, the release of blood occurs quickly and the concentration is high.
       Magnesium chloride, on the other hand, plays a dual key role in promoting the presence of calcium in the body during labor in cows: it plays a key role in the regulation of calcium in the body (active parathyroid hormone) and active enzyme reactions, in addition to being critical for neuromuscular function, it is not only important, but also directly involved in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins.
       Calform® Bolus is available in 202g tablets, eliminating the risk of accidental ingestion. Administer orally as a bolus through the applicator at the first sign of labor and for the next two days.
